Rally Press-On-Regardless USA. 1974
The next rally of the 1974 Championship was the Press-On-Regardless of Michigan,
USA. The Lancia team brought his three cars, taking advantage of the
displacement to Rideau Lakes Rally of Canada days ago: the Munari Stratos and
the two Beta Coupe, the Group 3 of 8 valve with M.Pregliasco-A.Garzoglio (I
suppose the K81148 TO); and the Group 4 of 16 valve with S.Lampinen-J.Davenport
(Nº65 L06635 TO). The Lancia team had now as rivals the Fiat and the powerfull
Renault team with three Renault 17 Gordini (front wheel drive) for Therier,
Darniche and Nicolás and three Alpine A110 (all very adapted to the mud and
snow roads of the rally) The rough conditions of the stages forced Pregliasco to
retire again, this time with broken exhaust manifolds. Munari with the Stratos
retired too with a distribuitor broken by a loosen shock absorber. Lampinen
finished with the Beta at fourth place, securing Lancia points for Makes
Championship, but was won by the Renault 17 of Therier and Nicolás and the Fiat
124 Abarth of Markku Alen.
